 Job Description

Implement, maintain, and engineer systems, software, and data integration solutions to business technical problems through the use of microcomputer hardware and software. Manage, maintain, and optimize the LAN/WAN infrastructure to meet the Defense Intelligence Agency customer requirements. Perform LAN administration and management activities including daily LAN maintenance and operations such as backup and recovery. Develop, maintain, and manage standard operating procedures and configurations of the LAN/WAN environment. Ensure thorough implementation of security procedures through physical measures, operating system, and industry security standards. Meet with customer representatives to discuss management and technical issues and devise procedures for rapid problem resolution. Act as a member of the technical staff for the LAN/WAN maintenance team.

Successful candidate will have extensive experience in IP networking, utilizing Juniper and Cisco hardware. Must have expertise in all types of IP routing utilizing, to include knowledge of routing protocols; primarily OSPF, EIGRP and BGP. Other protocol experience desired would be SNMP and H.323. Must have design experience for global enterprise networks, to include QOS implementation, ATM (OC-3, OC-12, etc), t-1, t-3, e-1. Must also have experience with layer 2 technologies, specifically Marconi ATM switches and CISCO Ethernet switches. Must be able to understand and configure switch ports, and VLANS for Cisco, and ELAN's, PVC's, SPVC's on Marconi. Must have worked with encryption devices; specifically, Fastlane, Taclane and KIV-7. Experience with Voice over IP utilizing Cisco products is also a must, to include knowledge of customerling plans utilizing Cisco call manager, and configuration of gatekeeper and gateway services on Cisco products.

Technical Certification Required

Requires a minimum of 10 years experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant Information Technology field with 7 years experience or a Master's degree in a relevant Information Technology field with 5 years experience.

Qualified candidates will have at least three years demonstrated hands on experience, which will be tested, with CISCO 2000-7000 series equipment to include the following: router configuration, network design, network security (VPN), analysis (performance, traffic, load balancing, etc.), maintenance, installation, and operations. CCNA certification mandatory, but CCNP or CCSD is desirable.
